EmpirBus NXT nominated for DAME Awards 2010
EmpirBus NXT – new generation of distributed power supply systems – is presented by the Swedish company Trigentic AB. World premiere will be held at the METS trade show in Amsterdam next week. The 16th of November the winner of the DAME Design Award 2010 – the most prestigious design competition for new marine equipment and accessories in the world – will be announced. EmpirBus NXT is one of the nominees.
The Uddevalla based technical developing company Trigentic is now launching a new generation of distributed power supply systems with digital switching. The units replace the conventional fuse based power supplies completely, which dramatically reduces the need for wiring. The system is software based and is easily configured. Either via computer interface or remotely via GSM network.
EmpirBus NXT is built for NMEA2000, enabling communication with other marine units. It also comes with the very high IP65 protection class, which makes it suitable even for smaller boats such as daycruisers.
- What the DAME Awards committee found worth noticing was especially the multifunctional channels of the NXT units, combined with the self adapting feature, says Henrik Niklasson at Trigentic AB. Both of these features are quite unique for this type of equipment.
Each unit in the EmpirBus NXT system contains 16 multifunction channels, each separately configurable to a multiple of functions. Digital, analog or multiplex inputs, outputs with fuse settings up to 20 Amp, tank monitoring, calender functions and much more. The units are self adapting, meaning they are automatically reconfigured according to previous settings upon replacement, with no need for a PC connection. The system is flexible and can easily be adapted to different installations.
